Book Description
The aim of this book is to introduce the new treatment option for newborns delivered from mother with PPROM and PROM. The morbidity and mortality is higher in newborns delivered from mothers with PPROM and PROM compared with other women that did not have rupture of membranes earlier than 12 hours until delivery. The prospective study included women with PPROM and PROM longer than 12 hours and follow up of the newborns for morbidity treatment and mortality rate. Routine treatment option was based on general consideration and later on based on culture of blood or other liquids of the baby. We offered an earlier treatment option based on culture of membranes received immediately after delivery by section cesarea or vaginal delivery. The culture and antibiotics received from this culture was proved to be more accurate compared to culture from newborn liquids and routine and general consideration treatment. This idea will offer to the babies' earlier appropriate treatment other than waiting for the results of culture later on when the signs of infections are clinically visible. This book is offered to medical students, doctors and residents of obstetrics and neonatology.

Book Description
This Handbook on Preterm Prelabor Rupture of Membranes in a Low Resource Setting is very important from the Obstetrician s point of view. It concerns one of the 5 Ps, i.e. postpartum hemorrhage, preterm labor, pregnancy hypertension, PROM and parturition problems which cause most of the maternal and perinatal mortality and morbidity not only in the AOFOG federation but also in the whole world. This handbook looks at the disease from an Asian perspective. Most of the literature on the topic have been from a Western view and it isrefreshing to look at it from another angle. This book addresses a complication of pregnancy, which tests the skill of the obstetrician as far as decision-making is concerned. The extent of neonatal services available largely determines the course of management that eventually choose in such a patient. In a low resource setting, where obstetric and neonatal services are not at their best decision making, the management is more difficult. This book will provide useful and comprehensive guidance to the frontline workers in Obstetrics and Gynecology to help them to manage this important and challenging condition."

Book Description
Metabolic Phenotyping in Personalized and Public Healthcare provides information on the widespread recognition that a personalized or stratified approach to patient treatment may offer a more efficient and effective healthcare solution than phenotype-led approaches. In order to achieve that objective, a deep personal description is required at the level of the genome, proteome, metabolome, or preferably a combination of these aided by technology. This book, edited and written by the outstanding luminaries of this evolving field, evaluates metabolic profiling and its uses across personalized and population healthcare, while also covering the advent of new technology fields, such as surgical metabonomics. In addition, the text presents specific examples of where this technology has been used clinically and with efficacy, pointing towards a framework and protocol for usage as it hits the clinical mainstream. Translates the conjunction of new surgical tools for intraoperative, real-time, metabolite evaluation and direct analysis of biofluid samples into novel options for augmented clinical decision-making Discusses longitudinal sampling from individual patients for stratified medicine Covers high resolution analytical spectroscopy and sophisticated computational modelling for prediction of adverse reactions in critical care scenarios, prognostic evaluation of cancer from biofluidism, and prognostic prediction of metabolism or response of patients to pharmaceutical interventions Encapsulates recent technology options for broader population profiling considerations, in particular, the metabolome-wide association studies (MWAS) that aid the translational researcher in identifying metabolic patterns associated with disease Foreword written by Professor Dame Sally Davies who is the Chief Medical Officer for England
